Hoensbroek Castle is the only castle in the Netherlands that has an elevator and is largely wheelchair accessible. This is really exceptional. There is also a disabled parking space on our free parking lot, some fifty meters from the entrance. Visitors with disabilities pay the regular entrance fee, with a reduced price for one companion.

Special wheelchair route

Although the castle has a large number of stairs and steps, it is still very accessible. Do you have difficulty walking or depend on a walker? We have mapped out a route especially for you.

It starts with a tour in the film room in the attic. You enter the film room by taking the elevator in the castle to the second floor, up to the 17th century attic. Here you will find the movie theater and watch a movie showing the entire castle. You can then visit the rest of the seventeenth-century wing in the Slotgebouw.

Dogs

Unfortunately, dogs are not allowed at Hoensbroek Castle (except for assistance dogs).

Buggies & babies

You can store buggies in the corridor at the cloakroom, which is located at our catering section. You will find a baby changing table on the disabled toilet. This is located on the first floor of the Slotgebouw, the 17th century part of the Castle. There is also an elevator.

Lockers

At the Domestique Plaats cafe you can find toilets, a wardrobe and a few lockers that you can use for free to store your belongings.
